Just loved the results of this project. Very easy to accomplish in Canvas Workspace. Step by step instructions are available in the video. I have not shown the cutting and weeding in the video, however, the pressing of the heat transfer vinyl is in real time and showing a couple of issues I had.
I do a lot of card making and I am always looking for words to add to the front of the card. From the design and preparation to the finished product is achieved by just following some simple steps.
Give it a try and let me know how you go.
Here is the video
If you would like the file you can download the FCM file here and an SVG file here.
Please note these files are foor personal use only.
I recently had a request for some instructions for scanning. I will admit I mostly scan and cut stamps and have generally had good success. I show this in the video.
I think with most users scanning has a hit and miss sometimes. There are a few pointers worth following.
1. Make sure you have a closed defined outline. If your object does not have that you can lay a piece of acetate over it and draw an outline or perhaps colour the shape to get a good scan.
2. You can transfer your scan to Canvas Workspace and tidy up and rough edges.
3. Scan several times on black and white and colour, the scans will be different most times.
4. Make sure you have good light and no shadows on your mat.
5. You do not necessarily need a scanning mat, you can make one by laying clean white cardstock down and layering a piece of acetate over.
6. If you use Direct cut you will need to use a cutting mat.
7. If you still not get a good scan try photographing and tracing in Canvas Workspace.
I downloaded a free svg file for a wreath that I wanted to foil. This was a free file from here. I am using this for personal use for my own Christmas cards so copyright is not an issue.
Firstly I compiled the file for all the elements and then made it on my SDX1000 ScanNcut. This principle could also be used for colouring or cutting different parts of a file.
I also received my We R Memory Keepers Magnetic Mat, which I used for the foiling.
